Bird Walk
December 10, 9:00 at 11:00 am, meet at the Riverside Nature Center in Animas Park, off Browning Parkway

Our parks are full of birds and many of them nest here. We will look for new arrivals on a leisurely walk of about two miles. Bring binoculars and bird books, or borrow some at the Nature Center.  This event is encouraged for those who are new to birding and plan to help with the Audubon Christmas Bird Count.

Partner Organization: Riverside Nature Center, Farmington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs

Audubon Christmas Bird Count
December 17, 8:00 am at 3:00 pm, meet at the Riverside nature Center in Animas Park, off Browning Parkway.

We will be part of this nationwide project, which is an opportunity for volunteers to aid in research, which has been carried out for over 100 years. Spend part or all the day with other birders counting all the birds, common or rare, in their wintering grounds in the Farmington area. Groups will be walking the parks and others will observe feeders. Beginning and experienced birders are welcome to take part.

Partner Organization: Riverside Nature Center, Farmington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs, and the National Audubon Society
